Family Worship and Community

In this video, John Castle discusses why he and his family attend Providence. Although they live quite a distance from the church, they faithfully attend the church and joyfully participate in our missions and ministries.

In this video segment, John touches on the difference the church has made in their family worship time. You will see scenes of how this family joyfully enters into a time of worship at their home. Family worship should not be seen as drudgery, it should indeed be a time of real fellowship bathed in the love of Jesus.

John also discusses why his family has decided to make Providence their church home, even though it is far from just around the corner. While the vision of our leadership is to establish church plants around the Central Illinois area and beyond, we understand that this will take time. In the interim, families who live a distance from the church can still participate in the community. This is made possible through the way we have structured Sunday to be a day set aside to worship Jesus. While some may chose to come only for the preaching hour, many households plan to spend this day, the queen of days, together with their church family, rejoicing together on the Lord’s Day in worship, feasting together in our Sunday community meal, learning together at our Disciple Makers class, and just taking time to fellowship. Even though the Castles are our most distant family, they are a key component of our community.

This is the first of a series of videos of real families discussing the real community of Providence Church. We hope these videos give you a sense of what God is doing through our church. If you would like to experience Providence yourself, we meet every Sunday at 10:00 am.
